An Evening with Primus @ The Tabernacle

This past Saturday I saw my forth live performance by Primus. This was one of their "An Evening with" shows so there was no opening act. Just two full sets of Primus.

The first set was a normal set consisting of songs from their entire catalog. It was as great as always. However, it was slightly made less awesome by the Georgia Tech bros that were being "that guy". Apart from that the crowd was amazing. Best crowd I have ever seen at a Primus show. 10 out of 10 all around.

The second set was a bit special. It was the Primus and the Chocolate Factory album played in its entirety. The set was decorated with giant candies, mushrooms, and other Willy Wonkaness. The best part might have been during the Oompa Loompa songs when two guys wearing giant Oompa Loompa head came out and danced. Super fun record turned into a super fun performance. It wasn't as lively as the first set, but I didn't expect it to be. The material just has a different vibe to it than the Primus originals. Great show nonetheless.

I also manage to bag one of my favorite concert mementoes ever. A Larry LaLonde pick!
